The Hägghult quarry is one of the oldest diabase quarries still in use.
The diabase from this quarry is of a unique black colour and structure. It is used primarily for memorial stones and the production amounts to about 1500 cubic metres per year.
If you are interested in the quarrying process, you are most welcome to visit the Hägghult Museum. Here, you will be introduced to the 100 year old tradition of quarrying stone at Hägghult and see how the art of quarrying and the security measures have been improved.
